COVID-19 Theater Updates

Here are the theaters, productions, and classes that have been impacted by COVID-19. If you had a ticket for any of these productions, please consider donating the cost of that ticket back to the theater rather than ask for a refund. The buttons below link to each theater’s donation page. This health crisis is going to impact our local arts organizations and artists financially for the foreseeable future, and they need our support now more than ever.

Bare Theatre has postponed its production of MARAT/SADE.

Burning Coal Theatre postponed its production of SILENT SKY, but says the show will be produced before the start of next season. CABARET NIGHTS has been postponed for June.

Cape Fear Regional Theatre has canceled its production of THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME. The company is offering virtual theater classes daily. To find a schedule of this week’s virtual classes, follow @capefearregionaltheatre on Facebook.

Carolina Performing Arts has canceled all remaining performances in its 2019-2020 season, including the upcoming production of HOME.

DPAC has suspended all performances through April 12, which includes THE COLOR PURPLE, CHOIR OF MAN, and American Ballet Theatre’s GISELLE.

Duke Performances has canceled the remainder of its Spring 2020 performances.

Durham Savoyards has postponed its production of PATIENCE. The new performance dates are August 7 to 9.

Honest Pint Theatre has postponed its production of SMALL MOUTH SOUNDS to August.

Hoof ‘n’ Horn has canceled its performance of PIPPIN and its REUNION WEEKEND will not occur as planned.

Judson Theatre’s production of THE ODD COUPLE has been canceled. A FEW GOOD MEN is scheduled for November.

Li V Mahob Productions has canceled its staged reading of The Old Settler.

MOJOAA has canceled the world premiere of SMOKED.

NC State University Theatre has canceled all productions through the end of the spring semester.

North Carolina Theatre has postponed its production of MEMPHIS. Conservatory classes are postponed through April 14. NCT is hosting a Virtual Spring Break Camp April 6 through 10.

North Raleigh Arts and Creative Theatre (NRACT) has canceled its productions of FREAKY FRIDAY and YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN. CALENDAR GIRLS has been postponed to May 28. MISCAST has been rescheduled for June 19 to 21. All spring classes has been canceled.

PlayMakers Repertory Company has canceled all Spring 2020 Productions including JULIUS CAESAR and NATIVE SON.

The Rebecca Show: What If I’m the Becky? has postponed its performances.

Raleigh Little Theatre has postponed its performances of THE JUNGLE BOOK and A RAISIN IN THE SUN. Its BACKSTAGE NIGHT has been canceled. Youth classes have been rescheduled to the weeks of April 14 – May 30. Adult classes previously scheduled to begin March 15 will now begin April 19 and run through May 24.

Social Justice Theater – The performance of columbinus scheduled at Burning Coal Theatre has been canceled.

Solace Theatre has canceled its production of SCARLET: THE OUTLAWS OF NOTTINGHAM. They are hosting an online watch party on March 26.

Temple Theatre has canceled its productions of STEEL MAGNOLIAS and MAMMA MIA!

The Justice Theater Project has canceled its production of 12 ANGRY JURORS and postponed its staged reading of LITTLE WOMEN.

Theatre in the Park has postponed its production of GUESS WHO’S COMING TO DINNER? to next season.

Theatre Raleigh has canceled its production of BUD, NOT BUDDY.

Women’s Theatre Festival is hosting a virtual playreading series. For more information follow WTF’s Facebook Group.
