Live Chat with WTF’s Ami Kirk Jones (FREAKSHOW)

Ami Kirk Jones started playing with paint and power tools in high school – a small school meant everyone onstage worked backstage. By college, she discovered she liked that part better and added it to her English degree. After a mid-twenties “life-break” to get married and raise two minions, she came back to theatre in the Triangle about 6 years ago. While she can be found doing anything from random crew to directing, her passions are scenic design and props fabrication. Some of her favorite designs include: Cary Players Community Theatre Company’s Legally Blonde, North Raleigh Arts and Creative Theatre’s Reefer Madness, Diana Cameron McQueen’s Fool for Love, and WTF’s own Sweet Tea and Baby Dreams. The Freakshow set, with all its new challenges, is definitely slated to join the top of her list!

Hear what Ami Kirk Jones has to say about designing for a virtual proscenium stage, working as a women in a male-dominated industry, and juggling family life with theater in this live chat.
