Live Chat with Madeline and Katherine Fugate about the COVID Quilt 2020.
Madeline Fugate is a 13-year old girl from California who turned a school project into a national memorial to honor the lives lost to COVID-19. Inspired by her mother, Katherine, who worked on the AIDS Quilt, Madeline wanted to create COVID Quilt 2020 to honor the people who have died from COVID-19 and to help those left behind memorialize their loved ones.
Madeline wanted to be completely transparent about her inspiration, so she reached out to the Board of Directors of the AIDS Memorial Quilt, including Michael Bongiorini and Cleve Jones, to ask for their advice.
Hear what Madeline has to say about the COVID Quilt 2020 project and more in this live chat.
